God is NOT withholding (Offering Message)

Wed night I was just chatting with a friend and she asked me this question; she said this friend who used to be Christian asked her: If there’s a God, why did he allow suffering in this world?

It’s a standard question non-Christians and people who want to challenge the existence of God post to you.

So I replied,” You know, your friend is right. God never meant for life to be this way. When your friend asked that question, essentially he reminds us of one thing: that things on this earth are not what they are meant to be.”

I began sharing with her about Paradise; what Paradise is and where we are meant to go in eternity. I didn’t make it sound really spiritual, but I just shared with her that imagine a place where there will be no more separation, no more tears; you won’t feel lonely because everyone will know each other deeply; next time have all the time in the world for supper, to take a walk in the park with a beautiful sunrise.

And she said it sounds too good to be true; I replied, exactly: that’s why it’s called the Good News.

But what happened then. Let’s turn to Genesis 3:4

4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

In Genesis 3, Satan deceived Eve based on one thing; he convinced Eve that God was withholding from her. He said “For God knows you eat, and you will be like God”. And Eve must have thought,” Yeah, maybe the reason God doesn’t want me to eat is because He doesn’t want me to be like Him. Satan convinced Eve that God was withholding His best from them.

You know, sometimes when we hold back on our giving, at our hearts we are just like Adam and Eve; we think that God is holding back too.

But today friends, when you give, don’t hold back; because God wants the best for your life, and He will never short-change your giving. He has already given His best for us by giving Jesus so that we can go back to Paradise. So give out of a cheerful heart and trust that God will bless you and bless the seed you have sown out of faith.
